kind, loving, and now… married! Rachel and Sean are two sweet people whom I was pleased to photograph this past summer, and I’m proud to show off some of their story-telling wedding imagery. They had an awesome and fun wedding day at their family property on the east-side of Cleveland.
As a photojournalistic wedding photographer in cleveland, I’m very passionate about being able to capture candid story-telling images for my couples.
I think the best wedding photographers in Cleveland have the innate ability to capture a moment through photojournalistic wedding photography, and have that image speak volumes very quickly.
I love weddings. There is so much joy. Especially when people are playing settlers of Catan prior to a wedding day. Best board game ever. Haven’t played? It’s worth it – a perfect blend of monopoly and risk.
Hand decorated mason jars fit right into the backyard wedding theme.
Rachel’s dress was elegant and full of grace. As I got to know Rachel throughout the day, I realized that her dress was such a match for her kind and caring personality.
Prior to the wedding we had a private meeting for the two of them.I love when a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day!
I gave the two some time together, and photographed a few candid wedding images from afar.
Rachel and Sean approached me as an artistic wedding photographer in Cleveland, and asked me to create images that weren’t “stuffy” or fake – but were full of personality and character.
I love creating timeless and character filled wedding photography artwork for my couples.
And I love capturing real moments between people.
This is the essence of being a photojournalistic wedding photographer in cleveland. By capturing wedding photography in a candid manner, I can hold moments in time – subtle little vignettes of a wedding day.
Hand written chalk signs ruled the day, and were a nice touch.

Who needs “table shots” or posed set up shots of all your guests when you have a photojournalistic wedding photographer who can capture candid wedding photography of your wedding? As a cleveland wedding photographer, I embrace the simple approach of being a photojournalistic wedding photographer in cleveland because I think the images carry so much more story than simple “over-posed” images.
Not only are they awesome people but Sean and Rachel designed their own wedding materials as well!
Seriously – such sweet elegance.
Even though he had already seen Rachel, Sean still beamed from ear to ear as Rachel came down the aisle.
And Rachel was all smiles. I love this.
A good photojournalistic wedding photographer in cleveland can capture many moments and scenes on a wedding day very quickly and efficiently, without missing a beat.
I love outdoor weddings in cleveland. There is a great challenge to being an outdoor wedding photographer – you have to really understand how to work and compete with the harsh sunlight.
One of the best parts of a wedding are the moments that happen right after the wedding ceremony. There is so much joy, so many hugs, and so many gestures of family. It’s so sweet.
The wedding reception took place on the other side of Rachel’s family home. Backyard weddings in Cleveland can be so fun – especially when they’re done right.
I love the little details they put into their day π
I love their color palette – the orange and the blue tied together so well.
Story. This is what it’s all about. And this is why Sean & Rachel asked me to be their wedding photographer. There are so many different styles & approaches to modern wedding photography. Primarily, we identify with being photojournalistic wedding photographers in cleveland, as we believe in the power of candid wedding photography.
And this is why we believe in being photojournalistic wedding photographers in cleveland – little moments like this. This little girl is so cute – and capturing her watching her family talk and connect around her shares a sneak peak into this stage of her life.
A party for the kids too – Rachel and Sean had a bounce house at their wedding reception!

Cupcakes are the bomb. I mean, full size cakes are great too. But what’s fun about cupcakes is that you can pretend you’re a giant eating lots of full size cakes.
(These cup cakes were AMAZING. I woke up the next morning wanting another one.)
It was an awesome party – hosted by none other than Toast and Jam Wedding DJ’s. They rocked it.
During the reception we had a quick pull out moment outside the tent for some fun π
And of course some of our raved about wedding ring shots to end the night π
Rachel and Sean – congratulations, and cheers to many years to come!
