I love Indian weddings. I love the family dynamic and how much it means to everyone. I love the colors and the dancing. I LOVE Indian food.
So this wedding was pretty much amazing.
Having an awesome couple like Nim and Bijal made things even better.
They are such a great pair, I loved photographing their amazing wedding weekend!
I LOVE the pageantry and detail in Indian weddings and events – we are very passionate about jewelry and “detail” images at Making the Moment –
and so Indian Weddings are a perfect place for us to rock out our jewelry photography skills 🙂
Speaking of detail and pageantry – check out Bijal here – she is a beautiful woman – I love the orchids in her hair, and I love how they play off the purples and gold in her Sari.
Our4 Days of our Indian Wedding coverage started on Thursday with their Mehndi at Bijal’s family home.
Mehndi’s (and all parts of Indian weddings) are SO fun to be a part of!
Meet Bijal’s mother Avani & her father Bharat – and Bijal’s nephew. I LOVE the families in weddings – and Bijal’s family made us all feel like we were part of the family –
and that’s why their images are so real and personable.
Henna is truly a work of art. I love intricate patterns and the skill and effort that henna requires makes it really amazing to see.
Friday night We celebrated their Sangeet. We’ve grown pretty close to the Indian community in Cleveland in the last few years, and so it’s been fun and enriching
learning all of the cultural and family elements to their celebration.
A Sangeet is all the family coming together – they have fun events like “name that song”, dancing, and of course food. It’s a great time.
After we figured out how these lanterns worked they lit up the sky in an awesome way.
Then on Saturday they had a picnic and cricket match at a metro park – a sweet time!
Saturday evening was the Raas Garba – which is a fun night of celebration and folk dancing – and of course more food.
One of the many aspects I love about Indian weddings is the abundance of GREAT food.
The dances were very fun and entertaining. Looks like a workout!
After the first three days, our team had practically become part of the family – it was time for the Sunday wedding and I was ready to celebrate with them.
Bija’s adornments were stunning – and such a perfect compliment to her.
The men’s morning was just as fun for us to be a part of!
I love these little candid moments right before the ceremony – so awesome.
Their actual wedding ceremony on Sunday was held at Deluca’s place in the Park. The outdoor pavilion is a perfect place for an outdoor Indian wedding ceremony near Cleveland.
Seriously – it was so beautiful out there!
These guys love to dance! Their baratt had plenty of that and plenty of people!
I really love how many traditions are in the ceremonies of a Hindu wedding. It’s very interesting and includes lots of family involvement.
Another cool thing about Indian weddings are the multiple outfit changes that happen. I love the variety.
How awesome is the Old Courthouse? I loved shooting here!
The Old Courthouse in Cleveland was a place of wonder that night – thanks to the many fine talents of a Taste of Excellence Catering.
We’re always thrilled to work with the team over there – their event planners and food are obscenely awesome.
Seriously – what a wonderful venue for an Indian wedding in Cleveland!
Scott at Jerry Bruno Productions was amazing that night – they did such a great job being the DJs – the dance floor was packed ALL night. Amazing.
A little more dancing for good measure 😉
Nim and Bijal turned out to be one of my favorite clients. Thoroughly enjoyed your wedding. Hope we get to go to the Big House with you guys this fall!
P.S. Thanks for the cookies they were AMAZING.
