Summarizing momentous occasions isn’t easy. It feels like I’m charged with equating life, purpose, and love into a palatable paragraph.
Nope. Isn’t that why marriage/love/your significant other is significant? Mainly b/c they can’t be downsized like a JPEG
Instead, I’ve decided to nopenopenope that altogether, and share poignant moments. Kinda like photos, kinda not. Kinda deal w/ it Maggie and Andrew couldn’t be shortened anyhow.
Always searching for a different view. The window light was, of course, gorgeous, but why not try something a bit more fun?
The bridesmaids were, naturally, glowing as well. The connections therein sort of make the day. Not just pretty girls in matching dresses, but life-long friends sharing past experiences and forging new ones.
Why yes, chandelier, I believe I’ll use you so.
The juxtaposition of the dudes vs. the ladies always cracks me up.
Ladies: Beautifully window lit, spotless room except for make-up and hair accessories. Mimosas, giggling, and small talk to calm nerves
Dudes: Jumping on beds, crap everywhere, shots, “that’s what she said”, and suit jackets errywher.
*Note: this is not a carbon-copy of these particular gentleman, who were everything but crass and terrible, but a synopsis of most weddings I see
Tongue-out, Jordan style, FTW.
The Omni William Penn Hotel. Damn. Amazingly beautiful. I’m pretty sure, whenever it was they were hand-crafting this hotel, that they designed this particular spot for a wedding dress. It’s almost too perfect. I was half-expecting some sort of bad juju as the universe pushed back against perfection. None of that happened, but there’s a strange insight into my ADD mind.
I also thought, “I may have overdone the dress shots here.” Then, I thought, “….uhhh…that’s sorta what we do…”
Good sports, I must say!
^^^ My favorite is on the right.
A wrestler. A bad-ass, to say the very least, but the nicest dude ever. I honestly couldn’t get him to be mad at me. I tried on several occasions, and he reacted with grace. Well played, Andrew. I’ll best you, one of these days…..
^^^ My favorite is the only one I’m pointing at.
These images actually sparked a conversation between Amber (another Making the Moment Storyteller) and I. When I saw this light, this setting, and Maggie, I said “You’re breath-taking.” Later, I was curious if that was inappropriate. We decided that honesty, in this regard, can be tolerated and not seen as weird. #Photogconvos
The veil. The finishing touch and the final piece.
What a gorgeous church. St Paul’s, if I remember correctly. Couldn’t have been more perfect, nor more reverent. Even sobs echoed.
If I had the time to name every image, I’d name this one “Proud”. He should be.
As stated earlier, gentlemen to the very end! Errrr beginning, in this case.
‘Twas quite windy that day! A storm actually sorta blew in in the middle of our photos. How dare that system, right!? We went from sunny and gusty to drizzling and quite chilly. I must say, however, that Maggie is a freaking trooper. I kept telling her it’s ok to quit.
Me: “We don’t have to take outdoor photos anymore. We can head in…”
Her: “No. Whatever it takes. This is worth it.”
Me: “You’re my hero.”
Her: “I know. I’m the hero Pittsburgh deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll photograph, because I can take it. Because I’m not your hero. I’m a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A fearless bride.” **
**She didn’t say any that. Adapted from “The Dark Knight” w/o permission
Perfect.
The Trolley is my favorite. Well, wait, I’m not sure they call it a Trolley in Pittsburgh, but in The Land, that’s what we call it. It’s my favorite.
I thoroughly enjoy when I’m able to capture a real moment. I love everything about this capture. They’re opposed, they’re both determined for something, although I can’t remember what. The groomsman in the back either stifling a yawn or shocked by something said. I just love it. It’s real.
I’m jealous of the bridges. ‘Dem Pittsburgh bridges in all of their awesome, yellow splendor. They’re standing on the railing, unfazed by my chaotic requests to do so in the wind.
Biker yelled “YO!” as he sped past. We all said “YO!” back.
Simple as it may be, still one of my favorites from the day.
My absolute favorite. Portfolio. Game. Set. Match. Done. Shut up. Finished. All over. See, how the wind tried to eff it all up and just made it better? Take that, wind.
The wedding reception of Maggie and Andrew was held at the Omni Penn Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
I present to you, Mr. and Mrs, shortly after stuffing face w/ cake.
Stomping. There was plenty ‘o stompin’ @ the party.
Guy in the glasses wins for best dancing look. Seriously. In case you were wondering, he held that determined look for the entirety of his dancing session. This wasn’t just a moment captured in time, but his face for like 45 minutes. Amazing. Props. Wonder what my taking-a-photo face is like?
Dance and drink, sis. Dance and drink with pride. See? No spills. She’s a pro.
Downtown in the evening. Stolen away for a few minutes of rest and fun.
The beautiful William Penn Hotel lobby. Gorgeous. Now maybe you see why Creative Imagery inside wouldn’t have been the end of the world.
Maggie and Andrew, thank you. Thanks, not only for trusting me with the regaling of your wedding story, but also for welcoming me into your fold. Thank you for befriending me, smiling and laughing with me, and sharing with me what you guys are all about. I’ve depicted a small portion of it here. I’ve done you justice, I know it.
