Drawing from almost two decades of experience, Brett Yacovella currently leads our tight-knit team of Visual Storytellers at Making the Moment. Not only does Brett own more shoes than you, he is an incredibly gifted and award-winning photographer; Fearless, WPPI print competition, and ILEA awards cover the walls of the Making the Moment office.

Why are you a Wedding Photographer?
I feel like capturing a pivotal moment in someones life will be one of my legacies in my life. I get to be apart of someones history.

What Would your Dating Profile Read?
30+ year old Married female with 2 small children seeking a long term relationship with four legged, pure or mix breed. Must tolerate princess dress-up sessions and manicures. “All you need is love and Peanut Butter” Neutered is a plus. Cats need not apply.

Susan stripling, bad-ass lady photographer with some crazy skill that has helped shaped my photographic style.
What Do you Love Most About a Wedding Day?
Weddings can bring out the best in people. It’s the absolute culmination of years of learning and growth – plus your uncle is probably going to get totally hammered and do something hilarious. I get to be at someones “best day ever” almost every weekend. What is there not to love?

What Makes your Artwork Different from Others?
I have a special knack for bringing out emotions in people that they didn’t necessarily know they had. Makes for some awesome photographic content.
What qualities does your ideal best friend have, or what types of people do you like to hang out with?
4 legs, fur, bad breath.
What do you like doing with friends?
Chasing tails, playing fetch, scratching ears.

I’m still trying to figure that out. I recently purchased a banjo… I don’t even like country music.

Board games in my house currently consists of Candy Land, Sorry, Hungry Hungry Hippo and Trouble. Chutes and Ladders

What do you think of Ohio weather?
I LOVE OHIO WEATHER! No Joke! I’d hate to live somewhere where the weather is the same ALL. THE. TIME. Besides, what how boring it would be to ACTUALLY know what the weather will be like 3 days prior to a wedding. I like to love spontaneously.
Favorite restaurant?
Any restaurant that has food my kids will actually eat.
Have you ever killed anyone? What was that like? What did you do with the body / bodies?
I have a text message thread with a friend where we just send photos of good places to hide a dead body. Lets just say I’d never get caught…
What do you love about Making the Moment?
There are very few wedding photography businesses that have whole team of creatives to support you. It can be a very isolating profession. I’m so very honored to be in this elite group!
